Asia-Europe Museum Network (ASEMUS)

Set up in 2000, the Asia-Europe Museum Network (ASEMUS) is a network of museums with Asian collections. It now gathers over 192 museums in 41 countries in Asia and Europe. As the founder of ASEMUS, the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) holds the only Permanent seat in the Executive Committee (ExCo).

ASEMUS supports knowledge & personnel exchange between Asian and European museums as well as the development of collaborative projects among member museums, including through the movement of collections.

For the period 2018-2020, the Secretariat of the Network is managed by ASEF Culture Department. Mr Kennie TING, Director, Asian Civilisations Museum (Singapore) is the ExCo Chair and Ms Ann FOLLIN, Director General, Museums of World Cultures (Sweden) is the ExCo Vice Chair. The ExCo members meet annually to discuss future directions and activities. Members in the ExCo are invited by the Chair to serve in the ExCo for a period of 3 years, with the option to renew the mandate for another 3-years term.
